Land Law is a boutique law firm with a keen focus on real estate closings, evictions, wills, trusts, estates, and business law. By keeping the areas of law limited, the firm stays informed as to new laws, regulations, changes and trends. That is worth stating plainly because the usual assumption about a small firm is that it is a large firm that has not grown yet. This one is sized to the work it does.

They are the same subject seen at three moments. Real estate is property changing hands. Business law is often property held by an entity, or a commercial lease with a personal guarantee buried in it. Estate planning is deciding what happens to property afterward, and for most families the estate is the house. A firm that handles all three sees the whole arc rather than one frame of it.

The office is in the Loop, on the west edge where Wacker runs along the river, a short walk from Union Station and the Quincy and LaSalle stops. That matters more than it sounds: Cook County practice involves showing up, and the Daley Center is fifteen minutes away on foot.

Criminal defense, family law, immigration, personal injury, bankruptcy and employment matters are outside the practice. You will hear that on the first call. A referral elsewhere costs the firm a fee and saves you several months, which is an easy trade to make honestly.
